I was listening to a Bible Study the other day and the narrator asked the question “What if you only had 10 minutes to live?”
10 minutes??? There is not much you could do in 10 minutes. However, in the last few minutes of my life I would try to surround myself with as much family and friends as possible. I would squeeze them so tight and let them know how much I love them. I would ask them to not feel sorry for me. I would reassure them that I was going to a place that we all long for. I would beg them to LIVE.
PLEASE live each and every day like it was your last.
So many of us get caught up in everyday life. The hustle and bustle of work. The house that has to be clean. The kids that have to be in every sport. The cars that have to match up to that of what our friends have. The clothes that have to be the best of the best.
We get caught up in drama and gossip and worry too much about what others may or may not be saying about us instead of just being happy and not worrying about what anyone else thinks.
We focus too much on what everyone else sees when they look at us instead of worrying about what Jesus sees.
If we truly only had 10 minutes to live would it REALLY matter if our curtains were trendy? Would it really matter if someone said something about you that wasn’t true? Would any of it really matter?
We are not promised tomorrow. We are not even promised the next 10 minutes.
Will you continue going down the path of regret drowning out everyone that matters with drugs and/or alcohol? Will you seek help from the abusive relationship you are in and find someone to treat you the way you deserve to be treated? Will you start paying attention to your kids more than you pay attention to your phone? Will you acknowledge when your husband walks in after a long day at work?
If you only had 10 minutes would you live would you do things differently than you are doing them now?
